Can anyone help ID this coin found at a CW Union camp site in Stafford Co., VA? It is in rough shape, but has an identifiable "royal" crown on one side. It is about .75 in in diameter...size of a dime/penny. Thanks!!!!

in Stafford...in fact there was a big camp right behind the courthouse where we could dig to our hearts content. I lived on 630 and could hunt a camp just across the road.
It has changed somewhat..the shaler bullet camp is no more and most of the camps I used to hunt has a house on top of it. Times in the past when you could dig 2 or 3 plates a day, 30 or 40 buttons on a good day and weigh yourself down with bullets and you could sell the for .05 each. All the other land has 2 to 300 no trespassing signs up
and your coin may be a token for a business.

Appears me and BA waited too long to hit the Triple S. <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":("> <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":("> Just recently sold him my Excalibur 800 and I've now got a 1000. He's having a blast with 17 frequencies !! We may head to the OBX next month after the smoke clears from Thanksgiving. Take care and happy holidays... <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

over the holidays them back home for 1 day them off to Columbia SC..I have a offer to hunt an old mill site where a war of state rights battle was fought and it is on private property... We are staying at Ft Jackson at the RV park. Happy turkey day..

I'll look forward to some pics of your finds when you get back. Love the "private property" hunts. A friend of mine has some land near South Boston that has had "some stuff happen" on it. He said we may hit it one day. Good night and take care.
