Coin Hunting in Prospecting Mode

Is it worth the effort to coin hunt in prospecting mode with the x-terra 70? I live in ohio and the weather is getting really crappy so my detecting days for this year are getting to be very few. I would like to try the prospecting mode my next time out. What would be the best settings for this and what coil would be best. I have the 6" DD HF, 9" MF and 9" LF coils. I will be using this mode at a park with some trash but not a lot. I don't mind digging trash because I believe you gotta dig the trash to get the treasures.

Thanks!!!

I always hunt coins in the prospect mode when in a non- trashy area and when I get a target, I switch to the coin mode for a reading. I find a lot of deep coins this way. I think that I get better ground coverage per coil scan.

I use the 10 1/2" MF DD coil and this coil will cover more ground in one scan than the stock MD concentric coil. Depending on ground conditions, I run full sens, iron mash at one, and track on until it ground balances then track off. I also pinpoint in PM using the end of the coil when the sound just stops.
