Coin cleaning

After trying dozens of different "recipes" for cleaning coins, I have finally hit on one that is by far the best I've ever tried. Here it goes:

In a tumbler about half full of aquarium gravel and a quarter full of coins (either clad or pennies -- but NOT both together because anything in with pennies will wind up copper plated)..

Add a tablespoon or so of salt, and liquid consisting of about 20% CLR (the calcium-lime-rust cleaner) about 40% white vinegar, and the balance water. Your coins will come out of their tumbling session like they just left the mint. How long to tumble? Depends on your tumbler and how dirty your coins are, but 3 - 4 hours should be more than adequate. Let me know how this works for you. Gil
