Coin Changer made a nice profit

I took over forty dollars worth of coins and put them into a coin machine. The machine is supposed to take 8 percent..I got back $33.69 ?? As the guy said,"Well Stanley, another fine rip-off, you've gotten us into.."" I am wondering if these machines are checked for accuracy? Learned one thing, sort your coins by denomination..Send all quarters, then dimes, then nickels, cents, half cents etc at a time. Should be more accurate, with less "slippage",,,,cordially NAD

That is one of the reasons I don't use them. I can roll a slightly dinged/bent coin and my bank will take them and it doesn't cost me some percent, either. Sounds like that machine was a greedy devil. HH jim tn

Machines are noted for bad counts. I was told they have to be able to read the coin, or it's considered a slug and you (DO NOT GET CREDIT FOR THE COIN)

I don't even bother with rolling them, just take a bucket full of coins to the bank and they run them through their counter. 100% return.

My bank has a "coinstar" type machine in the lobby. It prints out a receipt and if you deposit the entire amount into your checking account, you get 100% of the amount.
