Coin art works

steve in so la

Well-known member
I copied this set of cut out coins from another forum to show what can be done. I have done this type of art work a number of times and can tell you it can be done at home, in the evening with a minimum of tools and cash outlay. You can make ear rings, pendants, key chain fobs, etc. You drill a small hole through an area of the coin, put a jewelry saw blade through it and tighten it to the frame. (It's a lot like a coping saw). Then you cut the areas out that you dont want. File and sand what's left. Think of all the beautiful designs on coins & tokens you have seen. Lots of neat bird & animal ones on foreign coins. Steve in so az

I seen a bunch in TN a couple years back! I love the old artwork on the old love tokens too!

there's a guy up in town that makes jewelry like that.

Could you post a picture of the jewelry saw? And where you could get one? You spoke of coins from different countries...I have a nice cayman island coin that would be fun to try it on.
