Coiltek platypus coil for Etrac

Anyone have any experience with this coil? How does it compare to the stock 11'' pro coil? I was looking for a good medium sized coil, any suggestions or than this one.

I got the 13" ultimate coil and man what an improvement. I went back to a place i thought i cleared out and pulled up 12 buttons, a wheat and a 1919 canada large cent! another wheat i found near that area had . Small nails in the hole and the coil still sniffed out the penny signal. Its really stable in both auto and manual and pinpointing is spot on. The only drawback so far is being off on the depth. It usually shows objects being deeper than they actually are. i know you said mid size coil, but since started with the pro coil, and putting on the 13 incher, i havent gone back to the pro coil. I do that the 6xx8 SEF and that is good for separation in trash but the ground coverage is so tiny.

I have the stock coil,5 in sunray, the little joey, the 15 in WOT and the platypus. The platypus is my favorite all around coil it does everything very well good coverage good separation great depth and it is better in trash than you might think. It does feel heavier than any of the others even the WOT. All of the coilteks are awesome. Good luck.

HI! I have a platypus coil and this coil is awsome,in places i went with 11 stock coil and got chattering, came back with this coil and no chattering at at all, very stable coil but a bit heavy!i have to take som rest every 5min with this coil to rest my arm!but this coil is way deeper than stock 11.

I've had a Platypus coil for my Explorers & E-Tracs for years & love it. I use it more than the stock/Pro coil by far! I had an E-Trac with a Platypus coil stolen. I went out and ordered a new E- Trac and Platypus coil right away even though I had an extra Pro coil already!

had one and liked it but it was just too heavy, I talked to them about it and it actually was made to detect in water hence the name, the heavier it is in water the easier it is to keep it on the bottom ... straight from Coiltek . I use the Ultimate 13" coil it is so light and deep for places I'm hunting and looking for deeper targets and less trash, my other coil is the Coiltek 10x5 ... those two will pretty much get it done anywhere
