Coiltek Pinpointing Probe For GP3500

Hi Guys,

Anyone here used one of the Coiltek pinpointing probes for there GP3000/3500 or SD series machines? If so, would you recommend it?

Thanks,
Reifer

The probe is a great tool if you are using a big coil and have a deep hole going. It works great.

However, here are some options you might also consider. Spend a bit more and buy a Joey coil and keep it on an extra rod. Upside, it gives you a very versatile little coil that can be used easily as a pinpointer in a large hole. DOWNSIDE, it's not easy to carry with you like a probe. I just stick the probe in my back pocket.

Next option is the Uniprobe, by Detectorpro, I have this item in stock too. It is actually a self contained pulse induction probe contained in a quality set of headphones. When I need to pinpoint, I reach into my hip pocket, pull out the probe, flip the switch on the headphones and I can use the probe. Flip the switch again and I am back listening to my detector. Downside, it does not have as much depth as the COILTEK and they are fairly expensive.

Hope that helps!

Take care!

Right from the mouth of an expert, I never used one, so I did not post. I just keep digging and puting dirt in my nugget cup, then pass it over the coil. Within two or three cups, I usually fine the target. Grubstake

Thank you DOC!

That is what I wanted to hear. I'm definitely leaning toward the Coiltek probe as I have the stock 11" DD, a Coiltek 14" DD, and the Commander 18" Mono. I also have a Periscope Probe but it might be too fragile in that environment.

Thanks again!
