Haven't heard much on this coil for awhile.-----Any users of this coil out there that are willing to give their thoughts on it? (performance, depth, seperation---whatever)

It has been surprisingly quiet about this coil.

You're not kidding. I was anticipating seeing way more folks reviewing it. I bought the 6" ($150.00 used) and recently the 17" ($235.000 used) for basically the price of the Coiltek so I guess I'm set for the time being. At least until I see one pre owned for cheap, that is.

it hasn't been off the machine since i put it on. i have been using it in heavy park type trash and it has been picking good stuff out of the trash better than the 11" coil. but i have not tried to compare it with the 6" coil but i do believe it goes deeper and has some more coverage than the 6" coil does.

The only difference between it and the stock 11" coil is that it separates better and pinpoints a little better. Something I found to be very frustrating with it is the fact that the coil-to-shaft securing holes and plastic bolt/wing nut are the wrong size. They're 1/4" in diameter. To remedy the problem, I drilled out the hole to 5/16" so it would receive the stock minelab nut/bolt. I suppose my warranty is now void but I found this to be more effective than using the incorrect size that coiltek issued with the product. Additionally, by drilling it out I may have compromised its water proof capabilities. When I drilled it out, I noticed an inner white plastic...I lined the hole with some black Dap in the hopes of making it waterproof once again. Needless to say, I won't be putting it in water to test if it's waterproof or not. If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have purchased it.

I've had it since a few days after it was released. I like it! Very good separation in the iron, no snagging on stuff with the smooth bottom. I find that it is very stable with manual sensitivity at very high levels 26-28. It helped my find this 1672 Cob in a stubble cornfield! My oldest coin yet... I do notice that I need to slow my swing speed down a little bit.

Used the new coiltek last weekend in a very trashy park. Really liked it. Might just stay on my detector for awhile. Scored a 1875 seated dime in an area I have been over many times with the 11 in. stock coil.
