I have the coil but IMHO I would never use it at the beach. The advantage of the coil is its target separation. When I am doing salt water and the targets are far and few between I am looking for depth and the amount of beach/water I Can cover in the time that I am there.

CCadrin Hi,

This are old beaches close to the old shipyard tons of small iron and shrapnel from ground to air defense granates (WWII),your don't need depth everything is in the first 5'' .
We have not reel high or low tide ( only a few inches) on the Baltic sea, so everything that is lost in the water stays in the water .

As you would expect, the best place on a beach to use it is in very trashy areas that normal/large coils see too much junk. Think around entry points, garbage bins, campfires, and drunk hangouts. I use mine in the dirt in the trashiest park areas and junky old farmsteads. Good Luck; its a good coil when used properly.
