Coiltek 10" x 5" Treasureseeker Search Coil arrived

Old California

New member
Was looking for a new search coil mainly for gold jewelry hunting or for coin shooting with the GT and recently been hearing about the Coiltek 10"X5" Treasureseeker coil, Searched the Internet and found one was a gamble and a bit worried the Patriot meter would not work with the new Coiltek but luckily it does that was a big relief.

So far very impressed with the coil, It's a keeper and will stay on. Really looking forward to using the GT with 10" X 5" coil in the coming months ahead, These old Sovereigns are still fun to use and continue to amaze me they keep up with most of todays top end detectors.

Highly recommend this coil for those that inland hunt, A keeper for sure.

Paul, nice setup the Joey Coil looks better in the dark color.I always wanted to try the 12x8 Coiltek.HH Ron

I sure will GS, Went out yesterday before work and so far really like the coil.

Thanks!

Thanks Ron,

Is that what that is a black Joey Coil?, Been away from the Sovereign too long forgot abut the Joey coil never had one for the Sovereign but did have a Joey for my Explorer years ago.

Yes, Agree Black coil does look better. She's a keeper, Looking forward to running some test on depth and such as compared with the 10" coil.

Thanks again,
Paul

I thought about some of Coilteks coils for beach use.... but i noticed in there tech spec they are water resistant NOT water proof. I like the design of the more narrow ones.

I thought it said waterproof and then l looked under specs and said water resistant. Idk but I would like to know if it is or not. Contradicting say the lease. This is what it said on the coiltek site. GS

I was aware of it.... because i knew the Joey coil wasnt. We often see that as a disclamer should it get flooded. If its at the coil end, sometimes just removing the nut and putting teflon tape on it solves the problem. Not a big deal if you arent dunking it... wet grass and rain conditions are fine.

I could be wrong, but this coil looks a lot like the Joey coil. The 12x8 coil has interested me for a while, but haven't heard any feed backs with this one.I'm tempted to buy one just to satisfy my curiosity.HH Ron

I will have one tomorrow and they are fully submersible according to dealer and Coilteks brochure. I had wanted an X-8 but Sunray is having trouble producing one while moving apparently. Will be testing the 10x5 this week.

I know this is an old post however due to the lack of information and reviews I am going resurrect it.:) I picked one up today 3/19/15 and I am going to give it a good run on my sovereign this Spring. Stay tuned.....

Please Note: Fully Submersible Coil Serial Number Starts at #400.
