Coiltec 10"x5" DD Coil

Curious if anyone has used a Coiltec 10"x5" DD Coil with their CTX 3030. If so, what is you opinion?

I would call it a poor value but a solid coil. It fills the gap just about how you would expect. Not as deep as the stock but out separates it a little and deeper than the 6" but struggles where the 6" excels. Ergonomically it swings very well and at sites with moderately heavy trash , especially modern trash , it's my choice if the greater depth of the stock coil is not important because the coverage difference is minimal.
The cost is ridiculous even at $350
Still lookin' for a big coil BTW

Functional, it's a great coil! It is expensive, but so are both other CTX coils.

Sprchng, You mentioned you were still looking for a big coil. What is it you are looking for?

Sprchng. Thank you for your post and opinion. Kind of on the fence about the Coiltek 10"x5" DD coil at this time. However, I think I would be willing to sacrifice a little depth for a little better separation. But as you indicated, a lot of $$$ for just a little bit better return.

Its a great coil. Goes almost as deep as stock coil and separates almost as well as the 6in. I use in trashy areas where there might be deeper targets. First trip out with the coil, I bagged a Barber dime in hammered area.

I have never used a 5x10 however since it's 5x10 it sees 50 square inches of dirt about 4 gallons of dirt the stock coil sees 8 1/2 gallons of dirt the 6 small coil 36 square inches or about a gallon and a half of dirt. As you can see the 6 is going to be the best unmasking of the bunch which is better separation of adjacent targets because it is processing less dirt and targets at the same time .

The shape of the coiltec is good at getting between things but is still 10 inches long the tail well be picking up targets that the 6 well not so the more targets under the coil at one time the harder it is to separate them apart and more bleeding from adjacent targets .

A 7x3.5 or a 4x6 would interest me a lot more the 5 x10 is to close to the stock coil size wise you well get more depth with it but not much . The smaller the coil the higher you can crank sense up so the 6 is darn close to the 5x10 in terms of depth .

But the 6 well separate a lot better because it is smaller so the coiltec is kind of like a small stock coil it should of been smaller to fit in between the 6 and stock coil such as a 8 inch would be great .

You can't have great separation and great depth at the same time .

The stock coil and the 6 together well do that .

So I well wait and see what comes out in the future there are other coil dimensions that would appeal to me more than the 5x10 . sube

I love it, get the same depth as the 11" and the target separation is excellent, good for tight spaces (corn fields) and old fair grounds. The price is little steep but hope to find some goodies to pay for it
