I'm wondering if anyone knows whether the 12.5" coil will go as deep as the 10"x14" DD coil. Most old homesteads around here have a lot of overgrowth, so some times I may need to keep coil about 6-8" off the ground.
Or maybe I should get the 2 box for the GTI 2500, instead of the large DD.

Any thoughts or opinions on this?
 
The 10x14 excels in mineralized ground. In normal ground the 12.5 will perform the same. You will get more coverage with the 10x14 but it doesn't discriminate nearly as wel as a concentric and loves bottle caps. I have a field test on it at losttreasure.com

So I may as well stay with the 12.5" coil for now, because we seem to have lots of hot rocks near the rivers edge, but not too much mineralization in the field soil.
