Looking for your opinions/experience with Tesoro's DD coils vs. Concentric. I know about blade and cone field patterns but I'm looking for your results.

not sure its blade & cone as some would have us believe bench test some DD and concentric coils with a coin and get a feel for the edge of the detection field...

depends on what you want any coil for ? they all find stuff one better than the other? not sure depends on the detector and brand but Tesoro do make nice concentric coils

cant make a decision for you but can say most of my Tesoro coils are concentric not all though and they both work in differing places.

In my highly mineralized soil here in southwest colorado I have found with much testing over the years that I get better depth with the widescan coils but they have an affinity for bottlecaps. I only use 1 concentric and that is the 5.75 on all my machines because they handle small iron trash better I the old homesteads I like to hunt. I haven't taken off the 5.75 concentric on my Bandido2 micromax for years. The 5 X 10 widescan DD stays on my Tejon, The 7in on my Mojave, and the 5.75 concentric on my Vaquero.

From my minor experience with the Outlaw. The 8 inch concentric seems to be a bit hotter than the DD.

I am pretty much in agreement with Welgund...

I hunt in many sites loaded with trash and sometimes infested with pop tops.
My Compadre has a concentric so no issues, using my Vaq my 11X12" coil is a nightmare for me in those kind of sites so I got the 5.75" concentric and that is the coil that is usually mounted on that one most of the time.
I also have mineralized soil problems and DD's do seem to handle it a bit better but it is a trade off...because of the volume and types of trash I deal with in most of my sites my big DD and standard concentric are rarely used in favor of that sniper.

Good stuff, just what I was looking for.

Thanks.
