COILS

What are the Must Have coils for the 705? I like the 9x5 coil, and plan to purchase one. All I have at this time is the stock coil. Also the recommendations on the 3k coil.

thanks

If you want to go deep.....the 10.5 DD, MF or HF is the way to go. I'm a relic hunter and this coil stays on my detector, in fact, I have never used the stock coil that came with it!!!

That picture does not do that coil justice I have two videos on my phone that are deeper. The hole was about 2 to 3 inches above my handle. The id was -8 on a 69 caliber minnie though.

Yea, it will go deeper, this is the only pic I have of the proof. A bud of mine took this one. I have not noticed any difference between the MF & HF 10.5's as far as performance goes..........MO

Depends on what you are after and where you hunt. Plain and simple.

Help us out a little, are you a coin, relic or nugget hunter? What kind of conditions trashed out old homes or wide open spaces?

I like the 5x10 and 6" HF DD coils then the 10.5 MF DD. Only have a few hours on the stocker. Many of the places I hunt the big MF DD is just to large, because of the trash. I dig less iron trash with that coil though. I get the most nickels and pull tabs with either of the HF coils.

Some areas prefer the concentric coils based on mineralization or soil reactivity, or lack there of. Hotter soil go DD. Many swear by the 3khz coil for silver. I have not got one because of I typically GB at numbers which indicate I am usually in hotter soils and that usually prefers a DD coil.

Yes on all locations and targets. I hunt everything but I am new to gold hunting. I would like to get a coil for each frequency. But looking for the best coil for each.

My first purchase was the 6"DD 18.5Khz for trashy sites and then bought the 10.5DD 7.5Khz for larger parks, etc. But recently purchased the 9"CC 3Khz because of recommendations that it was a real silver and copper killer and have gone over heavily hunted areas and found some nice silver's and indians. Although it does not yet exist, I wonder how a 9" DD, 3Khz would perform?
