Coils

What do you want to know? I have only taken it off once since I got it and after a short hunt with the 5" DD I put it back on. Went back over the same area and found targets that the 5" missed, in HEAVY trash! Excellent coil!

Thanks capt-----I see you have it on your Gamma?----Should work on all the Greek series detectors and the G2 then also right?----How does it compare in depth to say the 11"DD coil?-----I wasn't aware they were available in the U.S. (yet).----Where could I purchase one & what is the cost?-----It looks like a nice, sturdy coil, reminds me of the 11" DD lightweight pro coil on my Etrac.---If I got it figured right, looks like this NEL coil weighs (about) 23 oz.---------Thanks again for any info. you can give me.-------------Del

Del, the G2 has a different operating frequency than the Tek Greek series and I don't know if the coil will work with it correctly even if it plugs in. I don't think it is on the NEL web site for the coil. It is deeper (how much depends on your soil and conditions) and heavier than the 11" but where it excels is in target separation and it pinpoints great, in fact I usually just use the pinpoint mode on the gamma for a depth reading as the x'ing will put it dead center under the coil. It is NOT available in the states to my knowledge. I purchased mine from the Ukraine from a seller for $168.00 plus $21.00 to send that sum western union. It was a gamble/ risk I was willing to take at the time. It took more than a month to arrive and I had assumed it was lost. Correspondence was tough, I don't speak Russian, they barely speak English ... but we managed by email. I can say that I am very satisfied with it. I really don't have many deep targets in my neck of the woods but as of right now the deepest target I have recovered has been 8 inches and the 11" DD will do that. I am certain in my own mind it brings out the best the Gamma has to offer.. But I may be a little biased!

Yes, the reason I was curious if the NEL would work on the G2 is that the Tek Greek series (although they are a different frequency), those coils will work on the G2/GBSE (at least the DD ones).-----Thanks very much for the info capt----much appreciated.----------Del
