I just bought one and have the stock 950 coil. I have heard they make an 8" coil ? Just looking for a smaller coil for those real trashy areas. Any recommendations???

buy the 6" "black max" coil and don"t look back!
it is the best combo for trash hunting with the pro-xl!

I have the 8 inch Royal 800 as well as the Whites Bulls Eye 5.3 (along with the stock 9.5 and the manhole cover 15 inch coil) and the 5.3 is what I use most. I had the stock coil on the other day and since I almost always use the smaller coil, it felt really heavy ! I was actually thinking of selling it after that, but after a few PM's back and forth with Jerry (Tinfoil) I changed my mind. Thanks Jerry for bringing me back to my senses !!

And since I have a Pro with the tone mode, it works very well and I can sweep slower. It's interesting how the tones react and sound in SAT mode. The tone mod also has a switch that enables the sound to resonate longer ( I think that is what it does ) so I am going to experiment with that too.

I did not try TR mode yet but I am interested to see how all the modes work on the beach. I did use the Pro on the beach once and it worked better than expected, but I only ran it in discriminate mode since I was new to the machine. I wanted to cruise the beach pretty fast and I know you can with the Pro, so that's why I used it there that one time.

Since I do have other beach machines, I think the Pro will be used on land mostly and I think I am sticking to keeping the 5.3 Bullseye on it ( and possibly change out to the Royal 800 sometimes). The stock and 15 inch manhole cove coils are too heavy for me !
