coils for Sovergn GT

Question? I read that the 15inch WOT coils by coiltech
were good for the beach.

But ....how does the stock Tornado coil do on the beach?

My experience with the Sovereign is only on freshwater beaches, but the stock 10" works great in the dry/wet sand. That being said I almost always take my WOT coil when hitting the beach. The coverage difference is a huge time saver, and it gets at least a couple inches deeper than the 10". The downside of the WOT is that areas of heavy trash/iron are very difficult to hunt.

I'm considering a 12x15 sef for my gt to use on beaches with targets that are "few and far between". Would the wot be a better option? What are the pros and cons of these coils in a side by side comparison (on a highly mineralized beach)?
As always any input is much appreciated. Thanks
Jim

I use the SEF 10x12 on my GT. Its killer in dry sand and very good in wet sand. It goes deeper than I care to dig at times and is light enough(with balanced shaft) to swing all day. Coverage is excellent, but I tend to hunt a little slower than most.

My buddy uses a 12 x 15 on an E Trac with a Swingy Thingy, and the coverage can't be beat ....You're not worrying too much about overlap ..... He moves right along with that thing .... I have a 10 x 12 on my Soveriegn and it works out well ..... The Tornado is a great coil , but limitted on coverage compared to a 12 x15 SEF ....Jim
