Coils for Explorer 11

Being 72 years old I am not as active as I once was . I would like any comments on the Minelab 8 inch stock coil
compared to other 8 inch coils such as the sef 6x8 and the X8 and any others. Thanks.

Gary, I like the 11" Pro coil that they come with now. The 8 x 6 SEF is a good coil. I prefer a little larger for most hunts though.

I think you will be more than satisfied with the 6x8 coil - well balanced, less weight, depth close to the stock coil and super in trash . . . . . it is my go-to coil in these areas

I'm trying to decide which coil. The 8" or 5"..I need small to get into tough areas but the 8" may be better over all . Dont know . Ideas ?

Hello i really like the stock coil verses the new 11 minelab coil on my Explorer XS becouse in my soil it is just as deep and is way more stable also i just picked up a 6 inch excellorater coil and so far its great!!

Thinking about this coil. I need a snooper that will cover ground. The one bad thing about Explorer 11 is ,it's heavy. Balance and weight with not much sacrifice in depth is what I hear..Dont know.. Your thoughts ?

The 6x8 addresses the weight / balance issue for me and gets depth close to the stock coil. It is what I use 90% of the time

Ive used the 4.5x7" excellerator coil and have got amazing depth whie working in the trash. Its very light and gets into tight places I've also have the luxury of trying out a etrac with the pro-coil and I'd have to say that coil is extremely light and I think it would be a good addition to the arsnal. However if budget is involved its tough to beat the price on the 6x8 from kellyco. I'd buy 1 but getting it shipped up to canada after duty fee's etc. doesn't make any sense.
