Coils cover...are they worth it and why?

Well for me I want to get my coil as close to the ground as possible. In fact most of the time I have it touching the ground for that extra depth. Which at times can scratch you coil. Another thing is that if you go to sell it and it has scratches all over it you will probably not be able to get as much for your detector. And thirdly they are cheap. My last coil cover I bought for $8.00
