I just bought a gti 2000 after useing a whites idx classic for the past 5 years. So im on new hi tec ground here, back to school. I would like to tweak it a bit on coils for different conditions here in oklahoma. Tons of sandstone, clay, sand, beer cans and scrap iron. Mostly looking for coins, rings gold chains etc. So what would be the pick of 3 or 4 coils

You will probably need to switch over to a DD coil design. Unfortunately, you will lose your imaging, but attain greater depth. Or, learn to ground balance the GTI 2000 manually in the true all metal mode. The GTI 2000 is a powerful machine, however, you must learn how to use it properly. Good luck with it!

#1) Definitely, get the new 8.5"x11"DD search coil. No imaging, but I seldom use imaging search coils myself. I prefer DD as most ground I hunt is highly mineralized.
#2) 4.5" Scorcher OR 5" DD from Detech(sold by KellyCo) if you can afford 5" DD get it. It's one HOT lil' coil. No depth reading or imaging, but it is deep and great target seperation.
#3) 12.5" Scorcher(non-imaging)Lighter and deeper than 12.5" Imaging. Useless in high mineralization or trashy areas. Awesome in wide open spaces while looking for older/deeper targets or caches.
#4) Treasure Hound with Eagle Eye depth multiplier if you wanna go really deep on larger targets while ignoring smaller metal targets and trash.

Just an old farts $.02 worth:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)
