Coils and coils and coils

Which one? I will a new M6 owner soon and I will be getting the 12 supra coil. Now I am thinking which smaller coil. I am looking at the White's 5.3,6x10 and 6x4 but also the excell. coils by kellyco like the 4.5x7,6dd or 8dd. I looking for a coil that will be good in trash but give me coverage and depth. I do not know how good the excell. coils are. I hunt the beach mostly but would like a coil for trashy parks.Any thoughts? Thanks and good hunting,Joe

The 6X10DD Eclipse and the 5.3 Eclipse are great coils. The 6X10DD Eclipse gives great ground coverage and works better in mineralized ground over the stock 950, it also does better in trash than the stock 950 coil while maintaining good coverage. The 6X10DD eclipse works very well on the beach, better than the stock 950 on the beach.

The stock 950 has its place in open areas without a lot of trash, that is where it kicks butt with great depth and coverage.

The 5.3 Eclipse is great in trash and still gets good depth, better depth than the smaller 4X6DD from what I have heard, some may chime in and say different.

I would stay with Whites brand coils myself over the others.

Take Care,
Bill G

The 6X10 is a hard coil to beat and the 5.3 is a killer in the trash.
My M6 is a gold diggerI use the 5.3-6 inch on most of my top guns

Hi I thought I would add my two cents here. We use Kellyco's Excelerator coils. My wife and I use the 4.5x7 DD,the 6" DD and the 10X14 DD. They are great coils. I especially like the sensitive little 6"DD as it is great for depth, target separation, and pinpointing. My wife loves her 4.5x7. We both started out with White's 4x6 which is a good coil, but we wanted something a little bigger and we got it with the two Excelerator coils. I also like the big 10x14 DD Excelerator. I have only had it a short time, but the times that I have used it proved that the coil has the attributes of a good coil. White's coils are good as I still use the 6X10 on occasion in open field hunting, but the 1400 DD is a mite to heavy for me. Don't be afraid of Excelerator coils they have the full backing of Kellyco. Good luck with your decisions on which coils to get. HH Dennis in Idaho

I was looking at the 6 x 10 but read target id is not stable. I also like the excel 4.5x7. I am looking for a coil that will hunt with coverage and be good around trash also sensitive to small targets. Depth is nice but id is more important. Dry sand hunting most target are not deeper then 8 to 10 inches. But I also would like a coil to hunt high trash parks. My other problem is I do not want to buy a coil for every need so one stock coil, one large coil and ? small coil will do it for me. I do know I will have to deal with my trashy area and the small coil I choose.I hunt the beach more then anything but I do like to park or house hunt every so often. Thanks Agian,Joe

I also use a 4.5 x 7" Excelerator DD Search Coil. I put it on my DFX several months ago and have not taken it off since. Love it and cannot say enough about it.
