Hello all i have a question for you all, I have an X-Terra 50 but have been told that i need to purchase the 18Khz coil as it makes it a better machine. Look forward to all replies Westcountry47

Much of that will depend on what part of the world you live in and what type treasures you hunt for. For relics or silver and copper coins, I believe the 7.5 kHz is better on the X-50. For gold jewelry, the 18.75 may be a bit more sensitive and responsive. For heavily mineralized soil, the DD coils will help stabilize the detector, regardless of which frequency you chose. The 10.5-inch DD round coil comes in either 7.5 kHz or 18.75 kHz. Whereas the elliptical DD coil only comes in 18.75 kHz. JMHO Randy
