I have a question for the experianced swingers. I ve read alot about the 8in stealth coil but was wondering if minelabs 8incher is just as good? any help would be great. thank you, Mike

Hello Mike, I have used booth coils & like them booth. I chose the minelab coil because I felt if minelab had the tech. to create such a good machine, surely they could make the best coil for it. When someone makes a coil for another machine they must not infringe upon the patient of another company. I don't know, maby someone else could make alittle beter coil, but this is one of the reasons I chose the minelab coil. H.H. jim

Minelabs bottom line is selling the detector, not as much selling a coil for it.Sunray,I believe,is into making it a positive experience more than a profit. If pure profit was the goal.with what they know now they would have their own line of detectors out now.And if that happens, put me down for one!

I will agree on the bottom line being detector sales. The minelab coil is made by coiltec. It has the minelab name because coiltec makes minelab coils. The stealth line of coils is made by SunRay also for the minelab line of detectors. Both coils seem to be on a par with each other in depth and the ability to work well in trashy areas. The minelab is 7.5" and 3 or 4 oz. heavier than the Stealth which is 8". My experience with the SunRay line is top notch quality and backed by Ralph. Ralph is always willing to make things right if there is a problem, and he reads these forums and answers a lot of questions and also is a detectorist. Making top line products for the serious hunter. I am not a dealer, just a happy user. <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)">
