Why is it recommended that you use Relic Mode when using the 5
 
simply due to the extra audio information. With the MXT I do not limit my field use to just one mode, however. I prefer to use both the Relic mode AND the Coin/Jewelry mode, all based upon my mood at the time as well as the site environment.
In super trashy sites, where my 5" EXcelerator is the coil of choice for the MXT, I usually prefer Relic mode. Most often with the trigger forward and set at '0' Discrimination. I then recover all higher tones.
