On one of my newer detectors, I have had one coil scuff cover crack, and the replacement I got doesn't fit tight. Maybe I got a bad scuff cover or the coil has a slight flaw.
Instead of getting another scuff cover and/or coil, I have an idea of taking the coil and spraying the bottom side, like the sprayed bed liners for truck beds. There are also can sprays and roll on for the DIY. The application can be applied thin, medium or thick in layers, and can be repaired if ever necessary by re-application. After application, water and dirt won't work it's way between the cover and coil like the snap on covers.
Any input either positive or negative?
