Coil (s) recommendations please...

I've read a TON of other posts about MXT coils but can y'all help me narrow it down a little? I need...

1 - Coil with great depth (12" is tooo big!) in mineralized dirt (North Georgia) for occasional CW relic hunting in the woods.
2 - "General Use" Coinshooting coil that MUST be sensitive to rings, jewelry & provides good depth in Mineralized ground & can handle the trash. (Tough order?)
3 - Smaller coil for hunting in BAD trash in mineralized ground.

Do you guy's see ANY advantages of those "aftermarket" coils over White's coils??

I hunt mostly old house sites (My fav) School yards, Parks etc... Which are LOADED with trash! (Need great separation!)

Lastly, if someone told you they lost a valuable ring in their yard, which coil would you use to find it? (Shallow, low conductive target)

Thanks in advance!! :pulltab:

[size=large]first would be the 5.3 . thought of as the best all around for trashy sites coil. next would be either the aftermarket 8x6 sef coil.reports are that it's better'n the whites 6x10 but not enough info to be sure. you'd have to pick between the two. and the third choice for a smaller than the 12" is the D2 ( 10" DD ) some will say the 9.5 but it's not a DD coil. neither is the 5.3 . so concidering the soil those are the only coils i would choose from.
it would be nice for the guru's to correct or confirm these choices. my choices are based on very little field time but a lot of research and reading time.these are the ones the experts constantly recommend. i wanna be an expert some day.

1st - is the 10"DD excelerator coil. Great for relics, very deep, and separates in trash suprisingly well.
2nd - is the 5.3 round coil. Deeper than you would expect, and separates great in trashy areas.
Lastly, If I were to go look for a lost ring I would use the 10"DD excelerator because it covers a satisfactory area, and I would find the ring fast.
(I guess you can tell from my update that I use the 10"DD about 90% of the time. I did use the 5.3 about 90% of the time, but after hunting a lot of different kinds of areas, depth testing, and testing in trashy areas, fields, schools, tot lots, and beaches, I found that I could increase my finds-per-hunting time by using the 10"DD most of the time). Hope this helps.

I'd like to add that for really heavy trash the 4X6 shooter is great for nosing out the goodies.
