I also posted these questions on the mods forum. But though I would double the exposure and post it here too.

Is the only difference in the old and new crossfire coils the plug? Garrett shows the coils for the GTA 1000, 500, 350 and CX models use 6.5 KHZ. I think the newer crossfire coils are in the 7 to 7.2 KHZ range? Did Garrett only use two plugs - the old style and the new style? Does the new plug fit most all the new detectors?
