Coil questions for v3i users

Two months ago I purchased a black 10x12 sef coil from kellyco for my DFX. Since then I bought a V3I. The sef coil doesn't have any numbers on the ears ( or a v) but on Kellyco's site it says they can be used with the V series machines. I thought there was supposed to be a serial number and a v on the ear of the coil. Will this coil work properly on the V3i?
My second question is if this coil works for the V3i is there a coil selection for this in the V3i when I set up the machine or what coil selection should be used for this coil? Thanks.

The V rated coils are for White's coils not other brands. The black SEF coils will work on the V series, some better than others but they make a white 10X12 that is made just for the V series. Read down the threads and a lot have been said about the aftermarket coils that Kellyco sells.

When using the SEF 10X12, I would select the D2 coil on the menu.

The 6x10 and 4x6 are used for an entirely different type of detecting. Comparing a large and smaller coil won't work.
