Been running the stock 11" on the pro. Just got the 5x8 and heading out sat morn and Sunday and Monday. Gotta love vacation time! So the question is, are there any tricks or differences to watch out for with this smaller coil? Mostly dirt fishing but curious if vdi numbers are different at all or tips if any. I've read it's dosent hit as deep but I'm sure it will still suit me just fine. Super excited to get out. Been almost a month!
 
The VDI numbers are basically the same. Targets seem to bang harder on the 5 x 8 coil. You can also run it at a higher sensitivity if you hunt in moderate to high mineralized soil. It gets incredible depth. It's the only coil I use when relic hunting. I think you are going to really like it, as most others have. Good luck!
