Coil question

Couple of questions on coils for you guys.

First have any of you used the Minelab 8" coil on your etrac and if so what are your thoughts good or bad.

Next looking also at the 6" Coiltec and the 6x8 Sef. For those that have used both what do you like and dislike abut them.

Thanks in advance for any info.

I haven't used the 8" ML coil but I do have the 8x6 SEF and it is awesome. I also use the NEL Sharpshooter which I think is a tad bit better than the SEF as it is a narrower coil and the separation is great. Don't disount the stock coil as it has amazed me a few times. I sold my stock coil and I am regretting that now. You can't go wrong with the 8x6...there is a reason that they are always on backorder at Kellyco. HH

I have two Coiltek coils , the 6" and the 15" WOT. They're both terrific but for a coil made for an etrac you would think they would make the coiling on the cord tight enough to fit through the shaft. I also have a 6x8 and Ultimate and those are tight enough to slide right through--kudos to Detech.
As far as performance , I find little use for the 6" Treasureseeker with SEF 6x8 available--they are a bit redundant and with the 6x8 at least you have the perception you are covering more ground.
The only use where the 6" has a real advantage IMO is picking through old can dumps in TTF.

I had the 8" minelab coil and I was NOT impressed one bit with it, sold it! The 6x8 coil is way more stable and DEEPER

6in excelerator ttf in heavy trash is super once you take the time to really learn ttf.
The 6x8 is excellent as well. I don't use it in ttf (no particular reason) but its a great cruiser coil in moderate to heavy trash.
Take your time and swing slowly, you won't go wrong with either one.
Cheers

From everything I've read - the SunRay Stealth X-8 does much better than the Minelab 8" coil.
I've had my Stealth X-8 for a few months now - it's great !
Have not used the SEF 6x8 yet myself - but I've never heard anything but the best about them.

I have tied several smaller coils and the Coiltek 10x5 was the best of them all. Minelab only works with coiltek.

Minelab only works with coiltek?

Please explain how that is true with many using Sunrays and SEF coils. Have you used any coils other than minelab and coiltek on the etrac?

Thanks
