Coil Question

There are probably some coils that handle the salt better.Salt water hunters may know which are the best coils for salt water.

they all do well. the larger ones you may not be able to use as high a sens setting but that's no big deal. Im currently alternating between the 10X12 SEF and 10" Tornado. No problems at all in salt water.

I use the Excalibur II 1000 most of the time at the beach and in the water. I lower the sensitivity to the point that the machine rarely falses. I have used the Sovereign GT with the 13" Ultimate, The 10 inch Tornado and with the SEF 10X12. Again run sensitivity as high as the mineralization of the beach will allow. All three coils give excellent depth on the beach.

I went to Coilteks web page and they listed a few coils that are Anti-Interference ( Salt ) coils printed on a sticker placed on the coil. They are for the gold machines only. Any reason for the gold machines only and not for other models...Garret made a salt coil in the 80's for the Groundhog.....Thanks for your input...
