A couple more inches in depth on coins from what I have found from previous use of both coils. Dead on Pinpointing also with the 5.3 versus the 4x6. .

I have both. The 5.3 is deeper as would be expected and has good enough coverage to be used as a most of the time coil. However, if you often hunt really trashy sites, the 4X6 is near surgical at cutting through heavy trash. I have an MXT I bought used that came with both coils plus rods and the 950 original. If I were buying from scratch, I'd have a hard time deciding between the 4X6 and the 5.3 unless I hunting really heavy trashed areas often. So it depends on whether you want/need super separation or a bit more depth and coverage.

It's my "go to" coil where there's a lot of trash. I like it much better than I did the 4x6. JMHO.

thanks for your replies, I think i will pick one up for the spring hunting season.

Another coil that you may like is the small SEF8x6 coil that is really great for getting into small spaces as well, superb in high trash areas but amazingly deep as well.
