Coil Question

I noticed that some images of the coils are round CC and then others are round but have an oval in the middle. Are there any differences in these coils?
 
Most of the pictures I've seen are either the 8 inch diameter coil that has round rings with spokes connecting them or the 10.5 inch diameter coil which is the one with the oval in the middle. There is also a 5 inch coil that looks like a white puck. There was a 12.5 inch non-Fisher coil for the CZ that is no longer made, and very hard to find now, the SunRay FZ12.
