Coil Question .........

Elton

New member
Does the 6x8 Sef usually work as smooth as the 11" DD Standard coil on SE Pro ??

Reason I'm asking is .................... When attaching the 6x8 my machine seems to become erratic...More false signals for sure.. More targets seem to not be in the hole once opened up.

Obvious question is do I have a bad 6x8 ........ or is this normal with an aftermarket coil not being set to exact specifications.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Try to wiggle the coil cord near both ends and see if it's broke as it will chatter and false on you.
I had a 10x12 sef that was bad right out of the box had to send in and get a replacement.

Yes it's quiet and smooth running and I tried running my Etrac up to manual 30-31 maxed out last time I used it on it and if I run in Auto+3 like I normally do I usually only get 17-low 20's for sensitivity so quite a bit of difference there.
The Sef's can be run higher I would say and still remain stable running too so they can give you more depth by running higher in manual mode.

Thanks I will send it back ........ I know it isn't the machine the 11" DD is near perfect ..

Appreciate the answers guys.. Your the best..

the SEF coil.

That 6 x 8 should be as stable as a rock...like the 10 x 12 is.

I love the pro coil because it is sensitive and deep but I always tell people who have trouble in the iron to give the SEF coil a shot.

It does handle iron better for me and it's easier for me to be able to discern silver hits from iron chirps.

My point after all my babbling:bouncy:...The 6 x 8 is probably one of the most stable coils I have...so you might want to have yours checked out to make sure you got a good one bro.

..after looking closely at the cable..it's was lose where wire screws onto the coil.... Somehow it worked lose... I tightened it, seems 100% ok now.. Must have been from Factory like that.

Maybe they forgot to tighten it... Thanks Everyone............
