Coil Question

Beale

New member
I have 2 coils that fit both the DeLeon and the Golden. I have always used the stock coil. The other is the 8" round Donut coil. My question is this. Would I gain anything by running this on either unit? I am not familiar with the coil. I just got it. I was thinking about putting it on one or the other MD and leave it a while. Is this a good coil to run? Thanks Beale.

I have the 8x9 and the 8"brown donut. Did extensive air tests for depth and separation with both coils on my Golden and Cortes. Could not see any difference in the coils.

I have both and have air tested them on several different machines. No real practical difference although my Conquistador got a bit more distance with the 8" donut. Try them and see. I've detected a lot of good targets with the 8"donut on my SS

The brown donut 8" coil pinpoints better than any coil than I have ever used. I have one on my Golden Micro-Max.
Try it, you'll like it!

Hi Beale, I have used the brown round 8" and the 8"x9" on different Tesoro detectors to compare them and found no difference in depth. The 8"x9" might be alittle prettier but I have always loved that round brown 8" concentric coil. Steve.

If you can find a Super 7" coil try that one.... I think you'll like the light weight of it and it's an awesome coil for trashy areas too....

I just tried the 8" donut coil off my silver u max on my deleon, find the depth seems as good and it separates the trash better. Seems like a good choice. Don

I'm a fan of smaller concentric coils on the umax units... the 8x9 however is perfect for the Golden in most areas I've hunted. I think the tones make up for that with the golden though.
The Silver sabre is sold with the 8" brown coil and I think Tesoro designed it to be sold for this unit. smaller is definately better for trashy areas with most all detectors.
