Coil Question?

I'm pretty new to this hobby and I was wanting to know if and what coils for my mxt ignore fences and just looks straight down to the ground. Also was wanting to know if anybody had a sunray invader target probe, just curious on how good it is before I decide to buy one. Thanx

I haven't had any trouble with my Sun Ray DX-1 probe, I wouldn't want to be with out it I think its the best probe out there. Now on the coil and fence lines, all my coils seem to pick up fence even the small coils I have found that you can adjust your Gain Control to get closer to the fence.:whites:

such as the Excelerator 4.5 x 7, or the Whites 4 x 6 will get a little closer to metal fences and playground equipment.

4.5 x 7" Excelerator Searchcoil
For Whites DFX/MXT.
This new 4.5 x 7" EXcelerator is a true to it's physical size, has very good coverage and depth detection. This coil can be worked in and around, under and in between many obstacles. It can be used for general hunting if you don't want to use the 5 or 8". Find coins, jewelry, relics, rings, etc. 4.5 x 7" size gives you the width of a 5" coil, length of an 8" coil plus added depth... it's like using 2 coils at the same time.

Good luck trying to find a coil that does that. The only way to hunt around fences, play ground equipment etc. is use a small coil, like a 4.5 x7 DD Excelerator and turn your gain down. You will still you get interference, but not as bad. As far as the DX-1 probe goes,It is a spendy investment but you won't regret getting it. Its the best pinpointer I have ever used and I think most folks that use one will agree. HH Dennis in Idaho

Years ago there was a weird coil which was made for the Minelab Sovereigns. The first ones. Sort of space age at the back wing sort of shape, a Bat Man coil I guess. Anyway, this coil had next to no sens above the coil and heaps below it. Made for detecting in water but guys used to use it for around fences and the likes. Not made anymore and was only an M/Lab coil. But, shows its a possibility.
