Coil problem?

I noticed my OOR coil cover had a crack on the side, so I took it off to inspect and found this disturbing wrinkle or bulge on the bottom of the coil on the left side. Anyone ever see anything like this before? I haven't noticed any unusual performance, and it's no secret I rely on this coil a LOT.

Sorry for the fuzzy photo. I quickly took a snap at lunch. I can take a better one tonight.

Hmm, doesn't look good, but. looks may be the only thing wrong. I've never seen one in that shape...

Hope that's all it is. I bought it used with the coil cover on it and frankly never took it off to look before.

that coil has been working just fine on your Racer 2, it tells me the inner winding is probably just fine and all you have is a 'blemish,' so to speak, of the epoxy pour. Just think of it as a 'custom coil' and keep right on enjoying the Racer 2 & 'OOR' coil performance afield.

Thanks, Monte. I'll do just that. Had it out again last night and found a couple of older wheat cents, so it's working fine.

Just the epoxy filling is uneven.
