can anyone explain the diference, ie. advantage/disadvantage between a 6.5khz coil, a 6.8khz coil and a 12.5khz coil? most mds use the lower khz coils but Garrett has the bigger khz. why? (tracker 4 rules! ) Ed
 
depth and metal preference. the lower freqs like silver and copper better, while the higher freqs like gold better.
 
when you get to higher frequencies like 50khz then the sound on the signal sounds sharper and cleaner but the lower frequencies like 4khz get more depth

hard to notice much difference between 6 and 12 khz
