Coil for my cz6a

prodrigsr

New member
I want to buy a 5 inch coil for my 6a . The last time I bought one I had to send it back because the coil would not id correctly on nickels. I was told it was an impedance problem. My question is do you have to calibrate the coil to the detector every time I buy one.? Not sure if I am wording it right but can some one answer this. Thanks.

Actually think you just got a bad coil as 5 inch coil should act the same as the stock 8 inch coil...with the exception of it being more likely to give a large target alert on a larger coin..As the CZ3D is a different sort of animal understand may be problems with CZ 5 inch coils and the CZ3D model itself which has no bearing on you as you have an older CZ6A...

5 inch I have for my 6a does a good job on ID of nickels. I agree with Dan that the first 5 inch was most likely a bad coil.
