Coil for MAX

Is there a coil that can replace the std. coil for the Max that is lighter and can produce the same results? I have the 5x8 but need a lighter, bigger coil to get quicker, more coverage in the fields I detect. The weight and imbalance of the std. coil really hurts my shoulder after about 20-30 minutes. I appreciate the expertise from you guys and dolls.

Some of the after market coils might do the trick. I don't use any. but hopefully someone can chime in here.

I would suggest that you get a harness and continue to use the standard coil on the Max. Several years ago I bought a Minelab harness to use with the GTI 2500. For the first time, yesterday, I used the harness with the standard coil on the Max. At the end of a two hour hunt my fatigue level was about the same as if I had used the 5x8 DD. The only thing I noticed was the width of my swing seemed to be reduced somewhat. I intend to continue to use the harness with the standard coil on the Max for open areas.

I use a full J-Strut vest harness with the 18" BIG NEL coil, talk about a HUGE weight on the end of a pole! However, I can swing it for hours with no fatigue. It was difficult to get the harness adjusted correctly as there are some 8 different adjustments. But at $130 it is a big investment. A generic harness, that looks the same, does not have the J-Strut, I do NOT suggest the less costly ($60 less) harness. I went big so I did not have to stay home with no regrets.

Walter, do you have a site that I could look at one and get some info? Thanks.
