i recently traded my 8.5 inch crossfire coil to a todd long in marysville california for his 4.5 inch coil.well to make a long story short i got ripped off and now i dont have any coil.if someone has one they would part with i sure would appreciate it.i can do paypal or money order or whatever.i would rather have a smaller coil but will take another 8.5.i know this isnt the classifieds but i havent had any luck over there....thanks daniel adams dladams76@hotmail.com or phone 3347018897

Hey, ya know, Garrett's still sells those right out of the factory in Garland. Call 'em up 800-527-4011. The GTA 1000 uses the Crossfire searchcoils (NOT Crossfire 2). Same searchcoils as CX Plus. You can also use that Rhinotough 7"x10" if ya like. 10"x14"double"D" also.
KellyCo sells 'em, too.

cuz the 7 x 10 and the 10 x 14 for the GTAx series are pinned different at the connectors. You can get the old style "x" connectors from Garrett or off of an old coil and switch out the connectors from the "m" to the "X". though.

CX. Sorry if I wasn't clear. Yes, of course the GTAx coils have different connectors than the CX Plus. GTAx fits GTP 1350 and GTAx 550. However, the 7"x10" Elliptical Concentric Rhinotough and 10"x14" double"D" searchcoils made for the CX Plus will indeed fit the GTAx 1000. As well as the Crossfire 4.5" sniper search coil. Believe me, I know. I've owned 3 different Grand Master Hunters and 3 different GTAx1000s and they all used the same search coils.
I don't know why the other GTAx machines use the Crossfire 2 searchcoils, but they do. I have a GTAx1250 and it uses the same search coils(Crossfire 2)as the GTAx550 and GTP1350............It is odd.
Yeah, the GTAx 1000 uses Crossfire search coils and all other GTAx models use the Crossfire 2 searchcoils.
