Coil covers for the 10" coil.

I love my tracker IV's, however the coil covers for the 10" coils are not very functional for beach work! A open web coil should have an open web coil cover, the same style as the 8" would be great! The full cover fills up with sand every 20 seconds or so and makes detecting harder than it has to be, as you are constantly lifting and dumping the sand out. I hope that someone from the company reads these posts, if so could you contact me via the forum in regards to this. I have promoted your product, which has sold quite a few units, after tuition and my recomendations, it is an easy and cheap problem to solve. I have modified mine by cutting out the bits that should'nt be there anyway. It does'nt look very good or professional but it works! Factory direct would be much better. Any how thanks for looking in advance, Regards Nugget.:ausflag:

hey nugget, i agree with u that a good 10" coil cover is hard to find. i have resorted to wrapping a clear plastic bag around the coil and taping it to the stem. its kinda crude but effective. it protects the coil from water, sand and dirt, is easy to put on / take off, and can easily see to do the " X". i sure would like to see what the good folks at bounty hunter can come up with. hope it helps, and hh

I prefer the two light coats of spray-on truck bed coating. The air tests on it are good, just waiting on the weather to get better so I can start field testing......HappyHunting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, I used a liberal coating of Selastic on my first 10" coil. The problem I encounted was sand still managed to get in after a while and ruined the coil. I thought it was great while it lasted, I did'nt relize the sand had worked it's way in, as you could not tell looking at the coil. I will see how your idea works out for you, and go from there. Thanks for the post, HH, regards Nugget,:detecting:
