COIL COVERS DO THEY HURT DEPTH.

Anything that impedes the harmonics could likely affect depth..... but its going to be so insignificant that you wont notice it. Ive even put one of those thick chair leg protectors on my X1 and tested it with and without ... no noticeable difference.

I don't use the coil covers on the sandy beaches since the sand has a tendency to get between the coil and the cover. Otherwise, it is always with the coil cover. That said, I have never noticed any discernible difference and it is nice the see a clean coil base when you get finished detecting for the day.

Only if you let dirt and moisture accumulate between the coil and cover. I don't use them for that reason and if you do, clean often.
