I just got my excal 1000 and the botton coil cover wont stay on and there is no way to snap it.I was wanting to know if they are glued on and what to do.

Thats too bad.Might be the cover itself, but have heard others say
the same. Electrical cable ties with the stainless steel tab will
work nicely. At least it will be easy to remove and clean. Good
luck with it, and HH Joe

Unless you want to.

But for the coil cover to be loose enough to fall off can be a good thing.

Use plastic tie wraps or electrical tape to hold it in place while hunting on dry land. But in the Beach, use it without the cover. Only because mine used to get filled with sand, and could possibly have more blacksand that could cause performance problems.

Only my opinion.

Hey Crow-duck, You could also contact the dealer that you bought it from, and have him send you a new one, that fits properly. Otherwise, you will have to secure it on like the guys recommended, or you may lose it if you are working in the SURF!! Hope this helps,
