Gust got in my new 17 inch coil and the coil cover don't fit the front or the back in the v part of the coil. It will not go all the way on. Anyone have this problem?

Minelab coil covers tend to be very tight. I would spray the bottom area that is tight with silicone spray and gently try to press it on. If it is a Minelab coil, it should fit with some coaxing.

I concur they are a tight fit....one of these days I plan on running that bead of silicone around the edges like some folks do.it would be a lot easier than trying to clean out all the nooks and crannies on the coil and on the coil cover every so often

Maybe a defect, but you can soften it a bit by soaking the cover in hot water..

I suppose that it could be formed incorrectly. But, I can tell you that the other day I took mine off in the field and I had a heck of a time getting it to snap back on properly until I pushed it down pretty much along all of the edges.

If you bought it from a dealer I would contact them for a replacement rather than try to force it and mess it up or even worse mess up your coil. JMHA:shrug:

Well, I hope the OP would't take a hammer to it in order to get it to fit, but we want to point out that it should be a snug fit.

at the beach my stock coil cover and 17" coil cover fill with sand in minutes - I definitely prefer to leave the covers off.
