Coil Cover????

I had someone ask me a question that I had no answer for. When you apply your coil cover can you apply a thin layer of "Dielectric Grease" prior to apply the cover?
I have heard of using "Silicone" to seal everything but never heard of anyone using dielectric grease.
Has anyone else had this question asked of them?
What is the answer to this question?

Dirt + Grease??? Why???:nono:

Grease and dirt don't mix. I'd avoid any kind of lubricant between the coil and cover.
I've hunted for years without covers on the coil and never had problems.
Unless you scrub the coil in the rocks and gravel I don't see a need for covers.

Might make it easier to take off or for that matter fall off when in use, but also attract dirt and debris.Don't know the composition of this grease but could also cause problems in the workins of the unit..Keep it dry and clean out frequently if you decide to use a cover..Many do not so its your call....

I've had to take them off a few times while at the beach to clean them out but I usually leave them on. I clean my machine most every time when I get home anyway. Just my two cents. HH :minelab::tesoro:
