coil cover fix?

Dmd3058

New member
has anyone tried using silicone around the coil cover to keep sand dirt and water out, so it dont have to be removed all the time to clean it. if you have done this i would like to hear some feed back ... thanks in advance

I've used liquid electrical tape on a coil and cover before. The black color blends right in and looks as if nothing is on it.

Yep! That's what I use and it works great. Then you can remove it if you want down the road. I use tub and title caulk/adhesive and it even looks nice with a white bead around the coil

Please remember that if you send in your unit for repairs and the scuff is glued on to were we can not take it of to do coil repairs, it will be broken off. It is the only way to get it off and is not going to be considered something we would replace. We do however recommend that you have a scuff cover. A scuff cover is very important to have and will save the life of your coil and warranty.

This is what I use

It works well and is very easily removed. I don't use bed liner because I fear warranty voiding.
