I did a little bit of experimenting this morning with My F75 as my new Small coil arrived and confirmed something that I had suspected for some time.
If the screw connector on the coil plug is not screwed into the plug on the detector body as tight as you can physically get it, the machine will give false signals every time the cable or the plug moves. I was suprised how slackening off the screw a just little bit could lead to falsing.
I am sure that this is the source of many of the frustrations that users have experienced with the machine, myself included
Hey and another tip, should you decide to remove your coil cover for its 6 monthly clean, make sure you ask everyone to stand well back and have a spare cover for refitting. My cover split into a 1000 shards of brittle plastic when I tried to remove it
