Sure?
Why not coil cover with silicon? Works very good for me. No sand inside.

I can't get the loctite marine epoxy in Bermuda so I use another brand. I was careful to make sure that there were no metal components in the epoxy, just in case.

Cheers,

most epoxy resins are porus once cured. thats why fiber glass boats are made with polyester base resins. so perhaps the polyester would work better and is easyer to find. good luck !!

My opinion, as Mirco said, coil cover with silicon. It would be the lightest option with least drag.

Thanks BH but I'm fine with what I have and besides I have plenty left in the two tins I bought here. Looking forward to hunting with you when your cruise ship docks in Bermuda.

Cheers Mate,

[size=medium]I originally used the epoxy but found it just too messy to work with. Besides, it changed the color of my coil. I used the truck bed liner spray which can be purchased in the color to match your coil. It's much quicker and neater. I've used the detector with it all summer with it and it worked just great. It doesn't deter any of the depth either. I even sprayed the liner over the epoxy just to make the coil look good again.
