COIL CLEANING QUESTION

A

Guest
IS THE BLACK PORTION ON THE BOTTOM OF THE STOCK 10 INCH COIL OF THE EXPLORER XS A "COIL COVER"? IF SO, CAN I REMOVE IT TO CLEAN UNDER THE COIL? I HAVEN'T TRIED BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO BREAK THE COIL IF ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE REMOVED.
ITS PROBABLY A STUPID QUESTION BUT MY PACKING SLIP SAYS ONE COIL COVER INCLUDED AND ITS THE ONLY THING THAT LOOKS LIKE ONE; EXCEPT THAT THEY PUT IT ON AT THE FACTORY.

Thats the coil cover and it will just slide off. I clean mine quite often as a little dirt or water can make a big difference.

I find that by carefully wrapping several layers of cling film around the coil & lower stem before I use my XS it keeps all perfectly clean & dry & does not affect performance at all.

Thanks for the information, cleaned it today, it was pretty dirty under there.
Thanks
